What Vitals are

Promising, popular, and not yet proven

Vitals is where we keep the ingredients people are genuinely curious about: adaptogens, functional mushrooms, mineral resins. They have a long history of traditional use and a growing body of early research behind them. What they do not have, in most cases, is the kind of large controlled trial that would let anyone promise you a result. We sell them because people want them and because the early work is interesting, not because the science is settled.

What is actually in each capsule

Serving sizes and capsule counts as printed on the jar, or as stated in the Vitals FAQ for layout-only rows.

This is our capsule range without cannabinoids: Ashwagandha, Lion's Mane, Multi Mushroom and Shilajit, four separate products rather than one blend. Each one is 60 capsules. It suits shoppers who want named species and printed extract ratios, and who prefer to read the panel and decide for themselves. Ashwagandha and Lion's Mane are single botanicals, Multi Mushroom is a five-species formula, and Shilajit is standardised for fulvic acid. Our capsules with CBD sit in a separate part of the shop. Batches are tested for identity and purity.

Choosing between the four

Ashwagandha is one botanical, Withania somnifera root, at a 4:1 extract ratio. Lion's Mane is also single-species, Hericium erinaceus, at 8:1, so the ratio is the first thing to compare. Multi Mushroom lists five named mushroom species with a milligram figure for each, plus vitamin C and B12. Shilajit is standardised to 20% fulvic acid and includes selenium. Four compositions, all specified on the label, and the pick is yours.

What is in each capsule

Ashwagandha holds 300 mg of Withania somnifera root extract at 4:1. Lion's Mane holds 400 mg of Hericium erinaceus extract at 8:1. Multi Mushroom brings together five named mushroom species, each with its own milligram figure per capsule, extracts standardised to 30% polysaccharides, alongside vitamin C and B12. Shilajit is 1000 mg of shilajit standardised to 20% fulvic acid, with selenium in the formula. The Ashwagandha, Lion's Mane and Multi Mushroom shells are vegan. Identity and purity are tested batch by batch.

How the capsules work day to day

Capsules, and that is the whole format. Sixty of them in a pack. The Shilajit label works in twos, so a serving there is two capsules, while the other three labels are read per capsule, which is how the milligram figures are printed on the panel. Water is all that goes with them. Store as the label states, and keep the batch number on the pack for reference.

Where this range sits

These four are the supplement side of the catalogue, mushroom and botanical extracts with no cannabinoids in the formulas. If you came looking for the other side, our capsules with CBD cover the cannabinoid range in the same swallowable format, so you can read both panels before choosing. Everything here is stocked as four separate products, each with its own species list, extract ratio and tested batch.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does 4:1 mean on the Ashwagandha pack, and 8:1 on Lion's Mane?

Both are concentration ratios. A 4:1 extract means four parts of dried starting material were reduced to one part of finished extract, and the Ashwagandha label declares 300mg of a 4:1 root extract of Withania somnifera in each capsule. The Lion's Mane label declares 400mg of an 8:1 extract of Hericium erinaceus in each capsule, so its ratio is the more concentrated of the two. The figures describe concentration and nothing else.

Are the capsule shells plant-based?

Yes. Every pack listed here uses an HPMC shell, and the Shilajit label describes that shell as plant-based. Ashwagandha, Lion's Mane and Multi Mushroom are each sold as 60 vegan capsules. The other listed ingredients are rice flour, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, calcium or magnesium salts of fatty acids and silicon dioxide, depending on which of the four labels you are reading.

Which mushroom extracts are inside one Multi Mushroom capsule?

Five, all standardised to at least 30% polysaccharides: lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) 85mg, cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis) 85mg, reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) 80mg, Agaricus subrufescens 75mg and chaga (Inonotus obliquus) 75mg. The same capsule also declares vitamin C at 16mg and vitamin B12 at 2 micrograms. The pack holds 60 vegan capsules in an HPMC shell, and the full list appears on the product page.

Where is the best place to keep the packs at home?

Shilajit, Ashwagandha and Lion's Mane carry the same storage line: dry, dark and between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Multi Mushroom asks for cool, dry and dark conditions. A closed cupboard away from a window or a hob suits all four. Keep the original pack rather than decanting the capsules, since the batch number is printed on the pack itself.
