Pick this one if you've settled on your amount and don't want to work it out again each time. The quantity is fixed at the point of manufacture, so one softgel is the same as the next, and the hemp flavour stays inside the shell. Handy if you're often away from home and want your routine to stay the same wherever you are.

When another form fits better

The shell is gelatine (bovine) and glycerine, so these softgels are not vegan and not vegetarian. A swallowed softgel goes through the digestion, and oil under the tongue does not; if you want that route with a fixed amount, bite the softgel open under the tongue, and you lose the flavour-free part while keeping the rest. This is the fifth of six rungs and it suits people who already know their amount: the 20% below holds about 33 mg per softgel, the 40% above about 67 mg, so pick the one that matches. The fixed amount is the point of this form and also its limit, because you cannot adjust it drop by drop, so anyone still working out their amount gets there more finely with a form measured per drop, and the useful strength is the one that makes your amount easy to take.

What is in the softgel

Inside each softgel sits the same fill as our 30% bottle, full spectrum 2.0 in MCT oil. Above 20% the fill switches from hemp seed oil to MCT, because the heavier extract load needs a different base. CBN, CBG, CBC and CBDa are raised and measured, at over 20 times an ordinary full spectrum oil. The shell is gelatine (bovine) and glycerine.

Developed in Switzerland in 2021 and unchanged since, made from EU hemp under ISO 22000 and GMP. The independent laboratory IFHA tests every batch for cannabinoid content and purity, and the certificate for your jar sits in the batch certificate lookup. Our page on full spectrum 2.0 explains how the formula is built.

The UK Food Standards Agency advises healthy adults to limit CBD from food to 10 mg a day. Don't take CBD if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, or on medication.

How to take it

Follow the instructions on the label, and swallow the softgel with water at times you keep to. A swallowed softgel goes through the digestion, and oil under the tongue does not, which is why our guidance for this form differs from the oil at the same strength. If you want more, the step is the next strength up rather than an extra softgel, since the amount per softgel is set at manufacture. For a personal starting point, work through the strength calculator.

What a jar holds

One jar holds 60 softgels, and every one holds the same amount, so how far it goes depends on how you use it. Each softgel here holds more CBD than a 20% softgel, so the same total comes from fewer of them.

Finding your own amount takes three weeks or more, which is why three jars makes sense: the third carries you past that stage. The supply planner works out how long your jars last.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much CBD is in one jar?

A jar holds 60 softgels and 3000 mg CBD in total. Alongside that there is 150 mg of CBN, CBG, CBC and CBDa together, raised to measured, declared levels. Both figures are what the independent laboratory IFHA found in that batch.

How much CBD does one softgel hold?

Exactly 50 mg, fixed at the point of manufacture, so one softgel is the same as the next. Each one also carries about 2.5 mg of CBN, CBG, CBC and CBDa together. Follow the instructions on the label for how to use them.

Are these softgels vegan?

No. The shell is gelatine (bovine) and glycerine, so they are not vegetarian either. That is the shell only: the fill inside is hemp extract in MCT oil, gluten free and without allergens.

How do I find the certificate for my batch?

Look for the batch number on the jar and type it into the batch certificate lookup under Tools. You will see what the independent laboratory IFHA measured for that batch, both cannabinoid content and purity.

How much CBD does the UK guidance allow a day?

The UK Food Standards Agency advises healthy adults to limit CBD from food to 10 mg a day. That is general guidance rather than a figure for this jar, so follow the instructions on the label. CBD is not for under-18s, anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone on medication.
